PURP OUT LOUD

Welcome everyone to our blog :)

PURP OUT LOUD! as you can see on our posters is a competition, or more of an arena for YOU to express your passion/concern/views/opinion on women's issues or in general. Why PURP? Well, for one, our theme colour for the event is P.U.R.P.L.E!! (So everyone wears purple on 5th-7th March. Or better yet, buy our event T Shirt! *Coming soon*) AND it rhymes with burp.. ha ha! Genius, no?

ANYWAY, nothing to be worried about really, on performing on stage. It's set in a supportive environment (more or less) and the judges are not going to eat you up if you don't act like Julia Roberts. Besides, cool BODY SHOP prizes to be won! So really, there's no excuse not to join!

What can you do?
Write a song on women/your mom/girlfriends/childhood friends etc. Or sing a song about women you've found so inspiring. Or act out a play/recite a poem that talks about the hardship of women, or better yet, their triumph against the odds set out against them. ANYTHING you find capable of capturing the spirit of International Women's Day.

Guys and girls!! All are encouraged to join!

All you have to do is:
1) Email your (group's) details and the piece you are going to perform by 3rd March to help.iwd@gmail.com
2) Practise and rehearse
3) Perform on stage!!
